Our Story
ECA Science Kit Services was launched in 1995 based on results of an NSF-funded investigation into materials based science programs. The outcome of the NSF project highlighted that most kit-based science programs tend to struggle with program implementation and sustainability for the following key reasons:
1. kits that lack all the necessary items to teach a unit,
2. minimal time available for teachers to acquire those necessary extra items,
3. minimal time available for teachers to prep materials for classroom use,
4. storage space,
5. cursory and ineffective professional development training for teachers, school principals and other administrators.
ECA Science Kit Services solves the key issues and supports school districts with implementing science programs with a focus on teacher experience. With over two and half decades of continued research and experience, ECA’s staff is the most qualified team of professionals to assist school districts with implementing and sustaining kit-based science programs from any publisher or any OER science program.
